Durante le 9 serie precedenti il Cmdr. Harmon "Harm" Rabb e il Lt. Col. Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie sono stati colleghi e amici, i loro alti valori e il loro lavoro hanno portato a qualche scontro... ma l'alchimia era una costante, nonostante i due hanno cercato di non vederla per motivi professionali...

Nella puntata finale di Jag, che saluta tutti i suoi fans dopo 10 anni e ben 227 episodi, Harm e Mac si trovano a faccia a faccia con i loro sentimenti...

Ripercorriamo in breve l'ultimo episodio di Jag "Fair Winds and Following Seas"

Il Generale Creswell annuncia che Mac dovrà trasferirsi a San Diego e Harm a Londra, per due nuovi importanti incarichi. I due sono in shock pensando ai chilometri che li divideranno. Harm dice chiaramente a Mac che ci saranno molte decisioni da prendere che non sono relative a lavoro e Mac gli risponde che hanno tre giorni per farlo....

L'episodio si svolge tramite una serie di flashback con cui Harm e Mac ripercorrono la loro storia da We The People, Goodbyes, Lifeline e il fatidico bacio, la notte sul Ferry in Boomerang e molti altri momenti che hanno segnato la storia degli shipper....

Harm sta sistemando gli scatoloni nel suo appartamento e improvvisamente appare Mac decisa a parlare di loro...Harm le dice semplicemente: "Mac, I don't think that I will ever feel about anyone else the way that I feel about you." ("Mac non credo che proverò per nessuno quello che provo per te" )

Mac:"That's very flattering. One piece of advice: Don't share that with your wife, whoever she might be. She might not understand." (E' veramente lusinghiero. Un consiglio: non condividere quello che pensi con tua moglie, chiunque possa essere. Potrebbe non capirlo")

Harm: "Do you understand?" ("Tu lo capisci?")

Mac: "Why we can't make it work? Why we've let Fate decide our futures? No. I don't." ("Perchè non possiamo farlo funzionare? Perchè lasciamo che sia il fato a decidere il nostro futuro? No non lo capisco")

Harm: "Let me ask you a personal question. Of all the men in your life, what was it about them that attracted you?" ("Lasciami chiedere una cosa. Di tutti gli uomini della tua vita, cosa era che ti attraeva?")

Mac: "Well, they wanted me, and they let me know it." ("Loro mi volevano e me lo facevano sapere")

Harm: "I wanted you. (e si siede vicino a lei) You knew that." ("Io ti volevo, tu lo sapevi")

Mac: "Harm, no woman wants to be a mind reader. And with you there's always complications. Another woman, work, searching for your father." (Harm nessuna donna vuole leggere nel pensiero. E con te ci sono state sempre complicazioni. Altre donne, lavoro, la ricerca di tuo pardre")

Harm: "That's all past." ("E' tutto nel passato")

Mac: "Is it?" ("Lo è?")

Harm: "Mac, we have twelve hours." ("Mac abbiamo dodici ore") (Le prende la mano)

Mac: "We've had nine years." ("Abbiamo avuto nove anni")

Harm: "I guess maybe I just needed a deadline." ("Forse avevo solo bisogno di una fine")

Mac: "Well, you got one, sailor." ("Bene ne hai una marinaio")

Si baciano e quando si allontano si guardano negli occhi, le loro fronti si toccano

Mac: "What are you proposing? And that's not a Freudian slip." ("Cosa stai proponendo? E non è un lapsus Freudiano")

Harm: "I'm proposing. Let's get married." ("Sto chiedendotelo. Sposiamoci")

I due si baciano appassionatamente e poi parlano del destino delle loro carriere.

Harm:"I love you, Mac. But I don't want to give up my Navy career, and you don't want to give up the Marine Corps." ("Ti amo Mac, ma non voglio rinunciare alla mia carriera nella Marina e tu non vuoi rinunciare al Corpo dei Marine")

Mac: "So we're right back where we started." ("Siamo nuovamente dove abbiamo iniziato")

Harm: "Do you believe in Fate?" ("Credi nel destino?")

Mac: "Well, it put us together. Sort of. ("Ci ha fatto mettere insieme. Più o meno")

Harm: "Fate could keep us together forever." ("Il destino può tenerci uniti per sempre")

La scena si sposta al McMurphy's. Harm e Mac festeggiano con i loro amici il fidanzamento, ci sono Bud, Harriet, la Coates, Sturgis, e anche il generale Cresswell.

Harm dopo aver annunciato il matrimonio...."And for this marriage to be successful one of us has to resign our commission." ("E perchè questo matrimonio sia un successo uno di noi deve rassegnare le dimissioni" )

Mac: "And it's no surprise that we couldn't decide which one." ("Non è una sorpesa che non siamo riusciti a decidere chi")

Harm: "So we're gonna let Fate decide. Bud..." ("Così lasceremo che sia il destino a decidere. Bud...")

Bud: "When Admiral Chedwiggen retired, he gave me his JAG coin, and I thought this would be the perfect moment to use it." ("Quando l'Ammiraglio Chegwidden si è ritirato mi ha dato la sua moneta del Jag e penso che sia il momento perfetto per usarla")

Harm e Mac sia abbracciano e Bud lancia la moneta in aria....la moneta che resterà per sempre sospesa.

Non sappiamo quale strada Harm e Mac intraprenderanno sappiamo solo che saranno insieme per sempre come noi abbiamo voluto e come il destino ha deciso....
